Restoring Your Power: Neighborhood Outage

Published:

Why is your power out but your neighbor's isn't? Here are three possible explanations.

If you've recently plugged in too many electrical devices, you could have blown a fuse or tripped a circuit breaker. Check your electrical panel to see if everything is normal.

If it is, your neighbor could simply be on a different distribution line that has power, while your line is experiencing an outage. Or, the overhead service line or meter connected to your home might be damaged and require repairs before electricity can be restored.

Reporting the outage can help your energy company determine where the problem originates and restore your power quickly and efficiently.
