The number of valid votes cast was 791, Board Secretary, Glenn Mitzel announced this number and the credentialing committee's report. Incumbent Tom Seymour won the District 5(2) election by 75 votes. Marcy Svenningsen, At-large, and Jeff Triebold, District 4, ran unopposed and were reelected.
Cass County Electric would like to thank Terry Kraft (147 votes) and Bradley Maasjo (270 votes) for actively engaging with the cooperative and running for a position on the board. We also want to thank all members that took the time to vote in the election. That's democracy and cooperative values at work!
For the safety of our members, Board of Directors, and employees, the Board approved changing our traditional in-person Annual Meeting to a virtual meeting. The virtual meeting format not only provides a safe alternative to view the meeting, but it allows more members to vote for their directors. All cooperative members had the opportunity to vote for directors either online or by mail-in absentee ballot.
VOTING CLOSED 11:59 PM, Tuesday, August 18, 2020. Survey and Ballot Systems (SBS) managed the online election. SBS safeguards the confidentiality of the voting process and the accurate tallying of votes.
